La Division de l’Afrique du Centre-Est

La Division de l'Afrique du Centre-Est est composée de 11 pays. Sur une population de 307 millions d’habitants, l'Eglise Adventiste du Septième Jour compte plus de 2,5 millions de membres qui se retrouvent chaque semaine dans plus de 11 000 églises.

Au Kenya, l'Université Adventiste d'Afrique assure la formation théologique des pasteurs à travers le continent. La Division gère également plusieurs autres universités ainsi que de nombreuses écoles secondaires.

Au Rwanda, l’Eglise a plus d'un demi-million de membres et elle est très appréciée au sein de la communauté. Les rwandais sont tenus d'effectuer des travaux communautaires pour le développement du pays le dernier samedi de chaque mois, mais le gouvernement permet aux adventistes d’effectuer leurs tâches le dimanche à la place, afin qu’ils puissent respecter le sabbat.

L’Agence Adventiste d’Aide et de Développement (ADRA) gère de nombreuses opérations importantes à travers la Division.

L’athlète Kenyan Abel Kirui, spécialiste des marathons, est membre de l'Eglise adventiste. Il a remporté la médaille d'argent au marathon des Jeux olympiques de l’été 2012 à Londres.
