África Centro Oriental

La División de África Centro Oriental está compuesta por once países. En una población de unos 307 millones de habitantes, la Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día cuenta con más de 2,5 millones de miembros que se reúnen en más de 11.000 iglesias.

Esta división alberga a la Universidad Adventista del África, en Kenia, que ofrece capacitación teológica a los pastores de diversos países del continente. También opera varias otras universidades y muchas escuelas secundarias.

La iglesia de Ruanda tiene más de medio millón de miembros y es bien estimada por la comunidad. Los ruandeses tienen que participar del servicio comunitario en el desarrollo básico del país el último sábado de cada mes, pero el gobierno permite que los adventistas cumplan su deber en domingo para respetar la observancia del sábado.

La Agencia Adventista de Desarrollo y Recursos Asistenciales posee operaciones importantes en toda la división.

El maratonista keniano Abel Kirui, que es adventista, obtuvo la medalla dorada en la maratón masculina de los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres 2012.
