Communication Department

Vision: 
To create a favorable image of the church, it’s mission, life, witness and related activities by using the most effective means of communication.

Mission: 
Building bridges of hope.

Functions:
Currently, the department looks after these basic functions:

  • News and information
  • Public relations and Media relations
  • Media services
  • Crisis communication
  • On-line services

Goals:   

  • Encourage professional continuing education for division communication directors
  • Conduct Crisis Management Training for administration of the church and institutions
  • Provide crisis consultation to the divisions
  • Establish effective media relations with secular media
  • Connect with community based activities for world headquarters
  • Continue to implement world church corporate identity globally
  • Deliver current news and information through ANN Bulletin, Ground7News/podcast, v-cast, and Web site
  • Provide efficient media services and production of communication resources

The department coordinates the activities of the Adventist News Network, a news agency established in 1994, and also hosts the church’s web page on www.adventist.org.
