Functions:
Currently, the department looks after these basic functions:
- News and information
- Public relations and Media relations
- Media services
- Crisis communication
- On-line services
Goals:
- Encourage professional continuing education for division communication directors
- Conduct Crisis Management Training for administration of the church and institutions
- Provide crisis consultation to the divisions
- Establish effective media relations with secular media
- Connect with community based activities for world headquarters
- Continue to implement world church corporate identity globally
- Deliver current news and information through ANN Bulletin, Ground7News/podcast, v-cast, and Web site
- Provide efficient media services and production of communication resources
The department coordinates the activities of the Adventist News Network, a news agency established in 1994, and also hosts the church’s web page on www.adventist.org.
