World Church

Trans-European

The Trans-European Division (TED), which encompasses 22 countries, was first organized in 1928, and last reorganized in 2012.

Europe is the world's second-smallest continent by landmass, covering only about 2 percent of the Earth's surface. In terms of population, however, it is the third-largest continent (after Asia and Africa) with a population of some 733 million, or about eleven percent of the world's population.

Amid a population of about 205 million, there are about 81,000 Seventh-day Adventist members worshipping in 1,165 churches across TED.

Most of this division’s inhabitants live in a highly secular region of the world. Ministries focus on evangelism and outreach for postmodern thinking. One example of this is Ministry to Postmoderns, which is a source of information and support to those who seek to understand and minister more effectively to the postmodern culture.

LIFEdevelopment is a discipleship model that encourages people to meet up in small groups, using friendship evangelism to make connections and build relationships. Another ministry that serves as a tool to complement Ministry to Postmoderns and LIFEdevelopment is Essence of Worship, a website that invites in-depth thinking about worship and provides resources such as interviews, worship guides and worship videos.

TED has also created an online community called LIFEconnect, a space to explore life and learn more about God together. Another initiative is TED relay, a website that aims to stimulate biblical thinking as well as leadership development, and provides information and resources to that end.

Finally, tedMEDIA creates music videos, drama productions, life stories, documentaries and other video resources for use in sermons, worships, Bible studies and small group outreach. The production team also produces promotional material for TED.
