Quinquennium Themes for Annual Council and Week of Prayer Readings

Quinquennium-wide Theme: Journey of Hope

Annual Council 2010: Saving Grace

Creation, fall and grace: The Promise of a Savior (Gen 3:15). The people of God waited for the coming of the Savior while relying on the grace that He will reveal. this was illustrated through the sanctuary services.

Annual Council 2011: Boundless Grace

There is a need to proclaim the generous and loving character of a God who provided more grace than was needed in order to redeem us. Grace is offered to all from an endless supply (Acts 20:24; Rom 5:12-21; Eph 1:6-7).

Annual Council 2012: Transforming Grace

Grace is capable of transforming the heart of stone into a loving heart; it brings into existence a new life in Christ. This is illustrated in the experience of the prodigal son, the demoniacs, Paul, etc. (Eph 2:4-13).

Annual Council 2013: Redeeming Grace

Grace came to us through the mystery of the Incarnation of our Lord who became our closest relative (John 1:14-16; 2 Cor 8:9; Heb 2:14-18). This was illustrated in the experience of Boaz and Ruth (Ruth 2-4).

Annual Council 2014: Triumphant Grace

God's grace results in the ultimate climax of the plan of salvation--the Second Coming. We should anticipate, prepare for, and proclaim the Second Coming (2 Thess 1:5-12; Titus 2:11-14; 3:4-7).
