Adventist Humanitarian Clinic Vandalized in Nepal
|
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency's Rasuwa District Clinic in Nepal was broken into November 30, 2001 |
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency's Rasuwa District Clinic in Nepal was vandalized November 30, resulting in stolen office equipment and cut communication lines. ADRA security guards were outnumbered during the attack but none were harmed or threatened. Civil unrest in Nepal is said to be the cause of the vandalism.
ADRA Nepal had already increased security measures at its project sites due to instability in the region. Evening clinic activities have been suspended temporarily, but the clinic will continue to operate regularly throughout the day. Other projects are not affected and continue to run as normal. Additional precautionary steps are being taken to ensure the ongoing safety and security of ADRA's staff and operations in Nepal.
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency provides individual and community development and disaster relief in more than 120 countries.
