Adventist Media |
Since its outset, Seventh-day Adventists have been very practical with sharing their faith and promulgating the gospel message of Jesus Christ. In brief, the church mission has received media attention in many and varied ways. Seventh-day Adventists, because of their interest in print, broadcasting and communications technologies, have become key players in making the Christian message be heard and seen loud and clear. The world church communicates under a common vision that "Seventh-day Adventists will communicate hope by focusing on the quality of life that is complete in Jesus Christ." To make this communication vibrant and effective, the church has established communication offices and media centers throughout its administrative structure. At the world headquarters of the church, the department of communication operates Adventist News Network (ANN), an international, denominational news agency, looks after the church's Web site at www.adventist.org, and coordinates public and media relations. The desired effect of the church's communication efforts is to create a favorable image of the Adventist faith community, its mission, life and activities, and witness that many people will become followers of Jesus Christ.
