Elidoro Franco

Elidoro Franco

In the Blue Mountain Reserve area along the Pisqui River in Peru, where the Shipibo live, there are a handful of villages with names like Vencedor (Conquerer), 3 Unidos (3 United) and Nuevo Eden (New Eden). These are villages where Christians live who were brought the message of Jesus by Adventist missionaries. Elidoro Franco is a young Shipibo teacher and experienced volunteer missionary. Franco helped prepare 15 other Shipibo Adventist volunteers and they were taken by aircraft to jungle villages further up the Pisqui where no Christian had ever been. Each volunteer lived for a month in isolated villages, teaching people about Christ. At the end of the month, 35 Shipibo became new converts for Christ and a new jungle chapel had been built.
